Designed as a companion piece to “Eye of Winter”, the long horizontal format in this panorama watercolor accents the vast expanse of sky and land so characteristic of Northern Rural America. The knotty weathered fence line sweeps the viewer’s eye along the road line and across the horizon line that is broken by an old stone farmhouse and several out buildings. The harsh chill of winter is softened by the warm glow of natural umber that is seen throughout the sky and reflecting off the snow.
