This watercolor was painted in 1984. At the time I had a friend in Morristown that I would visit and on a late snowy winter afternoon I was captivated by the glowing crimson sky as I looked west from the top of the hill where the road used to go, towards the bay bridge.
A few years after I finished the painting, the Morristown Library purchased it and it has hung there ever since. In the summer 2012 it was decided to have the painting reproduced and sell reproductions as a fund raiser for the library. I brought the work back to my studio and restored some of the color that had diminished over the years and made giclee prints that are now available through the Morristown Library.
