There is an unexplainable magic that happens just after sunset. Especially in winter when the landscape seems abandoned and naked, except for the contrast of buildings against the painterly luminescent sky. This fleeting shadowless icon of time is a constant reoccurring theme in my work over the last 30 years. Like most nocturnal paintings the viewer’s eye is drawn to the warmth of the lights coming from the building.
Reproduced by giclee printing from an acrylic painting on canvas. This house is located on route 37 near Hammond, and years ago was known as Troop’s place.
