I love the fall, come to think of it I love all the seasons. It’s just that in northern New York there is one season that stays way beyond its welcome. There are some that don’t like fall because it comes just before that other season. To that I say “do you not like life because it comes before death”? Enough philosophy.
I was passing through Canton on a crisp Sunday morning in October, the colors were at their peak, the sky was blue and the light was glorious. I stopped on Park Street and walked around taking reference photos. From those images I did this acrylic painting of the clock tower at Sykes Hall a landmark building at St. Lawrence University.
