The cut is a manmade channel between Association Island and Stony Point that was carved out in the early 1900’s to allow easy access to Henderson Harbor from the West. The view is looking south across Snowshoe Bay on a warm, calm midsummer day. This area is rich in history; Samuel DeChamplain first set foot in Henderson Harbor in 1615. Stony Point has many old, quaint and charming cottages along it’s rocky shores.
The style of this painting is a little more spontaneous and more impressionistic that most of my work, it is a direction I feels holds a future. Reproduced from and oil painting by giclee printing.
