Life is a series of decisions, we make them because we think we have some control of it all, but in the end its fate that rules. It was fate that led me to Monhegan Island thirty years ago. A chance encounter with an art show at the Farnsworth Museum titled “100 Years of Monhegan Art”.
That following April I arrived on the mail boat the Laura B, in rolling 10 foot seas. I have traveled back there many times both physically and in my mind. It is easy to understand why so many artists, for so many years, have found inspiration here.
This acrylic painting is the view looking from north from the main road on a glorious summer Day.
